All the latest football transfer news and information today centres around the following. Firstly we have the take over of Setanta’s broadcasting rights by the Disney Owned channel ESPN. Taking on the 46 games that Setanta have lost due to falling into administration the Disney corporation has now moved into the world of UK premier league football broadcasting. Are we one step away from seeing the likes of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse and Goofy dancing around the edge of football pitches, dressed in Disney Football kits? Hopefully this won’t be the case, and we will still see old school mascots leading teams out in ill fitting football kits. Whilst a little joke can be made about the appearance of the Disney guys in football kits, the whole situation surrounding the collapse of Setanta is pretty serious and may well have serious implications for football teams who had been banking on the revenue to help keep their heads above water. Will this see the need to increase the sale of football kits to cover the loss in earnings?
